Our third meeting this year was held at Dragvoll stillerom 2337, January 23rd, at 18:00 to about 20:00. Seven people were present, which can be reckoned as an aspicious sign, though we hope to be many more with time!
We started with a 15 minutes meditation session, followed by a short summery from two group members who recently have been to the holy place Bodh Gaya in India, where the annual Kagyu Monlam festival is being held. Our head of the board did some field work in Bodh Gaya and the topic is lama dance. She also got an audience with H.H. the Karmapa Ogyen Trinley Dorje, which is a real blessing itself.
We continued the meeting with planning an event we hope can take place at Dragvoll in February: A talk/lecture with the tibetan Lama Pema Geshe. We are all also looking forward to May as H.H. the Dalai Lama is coming to Oslo and many members will travel together to see him.
Near the end of the meeting we planned a party for Saturday at a group member’s place at Moholt studentby. Dress code: Pyjamas! (aka. “comfortable”)
Then we read a little in the Karmapas book from 2013 “The Heart Is Noble — Changing the World from the Inside Out” about ‘Love that Lasts’ and ‘Science and religion’. Our head of the board brought three signed copies from India along with meditation cushions for the group. Thank you!
We closed the session with 15 more minutes meditation and a short dedication at the very end.
“May all sentient beings enjoy happiness and the causes of happiness; May all be free from suffering and the causes of suffering; May all never be seperated from the sacret happiness devoid of from suffering. May all dwell in the great equanimity, free from passion, aggression and prejudice.”
